“A perfect cottage in a perfect location to recharge the batteries, thank you!”
This is a beautiful recently refurbished cottage with high quality fittings and furnishings. The kitchen was extremely well equipped with every utensil we could wish for. The beds and bedding invited long comfy lie ins, although we were eager to explore this beautiful coastline. The log burner provided a cosy evening in after a walk along the coastal path.
The location was perfect with the local inn providing excellent food at reasonable prices along with a very friendly service. Other eateries a few steps from the front door were two cafes with homemade cakes and delicious ice cream.
A few miles away the local farm shop sold a wonderful selection of Welsh delights to taste and savour, there is no need to visit a supermarket for supplies.
This coastline includes many bays with villages tucked away, but LLangrannog for us was definitely the best.
The beach is only a few steps from the door.
Ideal for walking the Coastal Path, and perfect for families with the beach so close, there are wonderful caves and rock pools to explore when the tide goes out.
Local Gems:Llwynhelyg Farm Shop - Excellent for fresh local foods and very good selection of meals and snacks for vegetarians.
A trip to Newquay, sit on the harbour wall and wait for Dolphins to appear in the bay - stunning.
We stopped off at Portmeirion for a night, well worth the experience, fantastic rooms with stunning views over the estuary.

“Fantastic Cottage in a Great Little Welsh Village”
We booked this cottage at the last minute through Under the Thatch. The photos looked good online and the property did not disappoint. It was, basically, exactly, like the pictures. We found it to be bright, clean and airy and, despite the fact it was on the main road into the village, nice and quiet.
All the furnishings were of a good standard and the property size was larger than we expected. It is probably one of the best places we have ever stayed. We have a three year old and had no problems with her safety though we were careful to not let her out the front on her own as there is no fence or gate from the porch.
It was ideal for us because we wanted a short break aimed at her vs. one with lots of sightseeing (though there is enough in the area to visit if that is what you want). It was a couple of minutes’ walk to the beach, which is clean and small and there are other smaller beaches you can visit at low tide. You are also right on the coast trail (though we couldn’t do this with our daughter).
It was great for families with children as beach is small and you can’t lose sight of the little ones. There were lots of families when we visited.
I would say great for walkers too though we didn’t do the coastal path but it was easily accessible.
We stayed very local. Beside the beach sits a great caf (Caffi Patio Caf) with home made ice-cream to die for, a fish and chip shop-restaurant (The Beach Hut) and two pubs (we loved the Pentre Arms).
Because we always try to eat local food on holiday we visited a farm shop (Llwynhelyg Farm Shop) about a 10 minute drive away and there are other great places for foodies too - look up the Taste Trail.

“Lovely seaside location with plenty of interest in the local area. This is an area we visit regularly and it was nice to find another lovely house to stay in”
A lovely seaside location - we have been to this area many times, and it was great to be so close to the beach and be able to walk to it.
Everyone in the village very friendly, and both cafes did good food and ice creams!
The house has a lovely new kitchen which was a joy to cook in.
House very suitable for someone with children who wants easy access to a safe beach.

Useful supermarket at local petrol station
Kite feeding stations if you want to travel a bit further afield
The only problem I had was the parking space which was too small for the hired car I had.
Stairs a bit steep for my husband who has mobility issues.
Aberaeron - The New Celtic Restaurant does great fish & chips.
Great meals also in Harbourmaster Hotel but you need to book
Sculpture garden was very relaxing to visit
The little bakery at Llanon is a wonderful traditional bakers with fabulous Welsh cakes
Newquay for the dolphins - we usually see them here
Mwnt beach - spectacular views and lovely sandy beach
Cardigan worth a visit
Travelling up through Brecon rather than motorway from the south worth the extra few miles for the lovely scenery

“All-in-all, Ty Traeth is a real treasure and comes highly recommended”
Wow! The owners of Ty Traeth have done a fabulous job on this coastal village house, just a stone’s throw from the beach.
Everything is top-notch and brand new, having only been renovated last year. Great care and attention to detail has been paid to ensure the character of the house has not been lost in providing modern comforts.
Downstairs slate flooring tiles cover the sitting room and hall, with the kitchen retaining original black and red clay tiling. The rooms and wooden panelled wall partitions are painted in a complementary range of Farrow and Ball greys, greens, blues and whites.
The house was wonderfully warm and comfortable. A very efficient oil-powered central heating system ensures the house is warm as toast, with a wood burning stove providing an aesthetic boost. We were so cosy there that we abandoned our plan for dinner out and opted to stay in with the roaring log fire.
The two sofas, beds, linens and towels, pillows were all excellent.
The cottage is in a wonderful location for cliff top walks from the doorstep, and for exploring the local beaches on foot. Within Llangrannog there are two pubs, a small village stores, ice-cream cafe, and further takeaway (closed off-season). The local Hoffant stores are superb and sell everything you will need for a self-catering holiday.
Superb comfort and beach-side location.
Local Gems:We love Aberaeron with its harbour-side location and colourful Georgian houses. The New Celtic Restaurant does great fish & chips.
The little bakery at Llanon is a wonderful traditional bakers with fabulous Welsh cakes.
If travelling from the North, like us, then the Great Oak Cafe at Llanidloes takes some beating for a great lunch.
