Summary:

“EXCELLENT”

Our third visit to Berwick House and yet again it was first class, spotlessly clean and the breakfast was huge and very well cooked with lots of choice.

Sue and David are lovely people and nothing is too much trouble.

Very quiet location but very near to the Byre, cinema, shops, etc.

Specifically Recommend:

This guest house is spotlessly clean and very comfortable

Local Gems:

The Anchor Inn for food

Jacobs Ladder cafe

Donkey Sanctuary (which is free entry).

Manor Pavilion Theatre and Cinema (at bottom of road from Berwick House) - very quaint.

“Cannot fault Berwick House and its overall ambience, just very, very good”

Cannot fault Berwick House and its overall ambience. Just very, very good.

Nothing seems too much trouble, the rooms are excellent and the breakfast second to none.

This is the sort of standard that hotels and B&Bs ought to aspire.

If we visit Sidmouth again we wouldn’t look elsewhere.

Specifically Recommend:

Everything

Local Gems:

Sidmouth itself is just great. Loads of places to eat and of course walk the south west coastal path. We were lucky with excellent walking and seaside weather as well.

“Great B&B where the quality of the welcome and the breakfasts are superlative!”

Berwick House is a fantastic B&B where the proprietors really take care to make your stay comfortable. They go out of their way to ensure that you have anything that you need and are amazingly welcoming and friendly.

The rooms are attractive and well equipped, and the beds comfortable. The rooms are very clean.

Breakfasts really set you up for the day and cater for specific food needs. Local produce is used where possible.

I have been staying at Berwick House twice a year for about five years now and consider Berwick House to be a really important part of my holiday!

Specifically Recommend:

The breakfasts are great, and the hospitality is a real winner.

Local Gems:

The local pub, The Radway, is very friendly and the Cinnamon Tree Indian restaurant serves super food.

Summary:

“We love going to the Berwick, it is so homely and we relax and unwind, it is like home-from-home to us”

We have stayed many times and always go back, knowing we always have a very warm welcome, very clean rooms, excellent breakfasts, and great hospitality...nothing is too much trouble for the host & hostess.

We have recommended it to friends and they have been well pleased also with the Berwick, and would definitely go again.

It is well suited to couples from teenagers to 80yr olds! Its location is good as it is close to the town, the seafront, and the Byes (park).

There is one downstairs bedroom should you struggle with stairs.

We hope to go again in 2012...and we call ourselves the Sidmouth Six.

Specifically Recommend:

It is all good, we cannot fault anything

Local Gems:

The Connaught Gardens and the cafe, Sue’s Pantry, for large or small refreshments.

Most pubs we have found to be fine, serving nice meals
