Summary:

“Excellent. We will definitely return because of the responsiveness and flexibility to requests, and the customer care demonstrated by Carol and Peter Wood”

Accurate description and photos. Carol was responsive to all queries e.g. broadband, printer which we needed access to

Warm, friendly, flexible service from Peter and Carol. Personalized to meet needs of guests e.g providing cleaning as well as changing sheets and linens once a week

Charming setting, comfortable and decent sized rooms. All mod cons - which work!

Specifically Recommend:

Space and showers that work, ample closet and storage space

Be Aware:

Parking and getting into the parking lot can be tricky, particularly if there are other cars parked.

Lighting in wintry nights, when one has to go over icy and wet grass, could be enhanced

Heating in the smaller bedroom in winter works less well. Would welcome heating in the airing cupboard to keep washed items warm and dry (although the washer-dryer works well)

Local Gems:

Good restaurants in Farnham, Alton and Odiham not far from Dragon Lodge.

The Star Inn at Lower Froyle is a treasure

Summary:

“Excellent”

It was much nicer than expected! Everything was so clean and well thought through. And the bathrooms are great - modern and with really good showers. The provided welcome pack contained almost everything.

We have stayed twice in the Dragon Lodge - the first time in The Orangery (2 adults, 1 child), the second time in The Den (3 adults & 2 children).

Carol and Peter Wood are very friendly and very uncomplicated. The second time we visited Dragon Lodge it really felt like coming home.

You can park your car nearly in front of the apartments, which is very comfortable when you have to unload your suitcases.

The garden is wonderful and it is nice to sit in the sun in front of your apartment. DVDs, CDs and games are provided.

There is free Wireless LAN available. A lot of information about local pubs and interesting things to see is also provided.

Specifically Recommend:

If you don’t like to be watched and supervised by your hosts, Dragon Lodge should be your choice!

Summary:

“Excellent, we had a leisurely break in wonderful surroundings”

The accommodation was much better than detailed on the website and exceeded our expectations in all ways - cleanliness, decoration, equipment and well stocked fridge on arrival - everything we needed.

We stayed in The Den and found it extremely comfortable and everything was done to make our stay a very good one. We had central heating every day and permanent hot water.

The seating area was extremely comfortable and television, DVD, radio, CD player were all provided, together with discs and CDs. The bathroom was very modern, digital shower and lots of little bottles of shower gel, etc were provided. The bedroom was extremely comfortable and well furnished.

A telephone with free calls in the UK was also included. They also provide tourist literature for the surrounding area and Ordnance Survey maps which proved very useful. They were also very good at recommending excellent places to eat in the area.

Specifically Recommend:

Carol and Peter themselves as they were very welcoming and were always available when or if we needed them.

There was a decking area outside the property with garden furniture provided and this looked on to a beautiful garden. We were also invited to use the gazebo in the garden.

We have self-catered for over 30 years and this is one of, if not the best we have ever been in. Carol had sent us a lot of literature when we first booked the property

I think they have covered everything that is needed for a first class self-catering holiday

Local Gems:

Hollybush Pub in Frensham - excellent food

En Route:

We travelled from Scotland and stayed overnight in a Premier Lodge.

Summary:

“It was a truly lovely place to stay”

We stayed in the one-bed cottage and then the two-bed cottage. Having the two bedrooms is great as their room sizes were very good, plus a nice bathroom, although the living area kitchen was smaller than in the one-bed cottage.

We loved the kitchen and living area in the one-bed cottage but preferred the bedrooms and bathroom in the two-bed place! Very high quality products used, fridge stocked up for your first breakfast which was amazing, including a bottle of wine.

Small touches like body lotions, shower gels, hairdryer included. If it wasn’t there, then they had no problem providing it for you.

Carol and Peter are lovely and we will be staying there again next year

Specifically Recommend:

See all of above!

Be Aware:

Could provide a larger table to sit at for dinner if more than two people staying

Owner’s Reply:

Please note that the lodges are the same size, although they are set out in a slightly different way.

Summary:

“Absolutely wonderful and satisfactory!”

Their website does not do justice to the beauty and modern amenities described, it far exceeded our expectation. Excellent oven, hob, refrigerator, pots & pans etc, iron, vacuum cleaner, washing-drying machine are digital, new and of the best quality!

The furniture and beds etc are comfortable, new, modern and lovely! The interior decorating is beautiful! The bathroom was modern with the newest digital operated water system! Beautiful choice of tiles and towels.

The very first thing which impressed us was the WARM HOSPITALITY AND WELCOME we received from Peter and Carol. It was a very pleasant experience to stay at Dragon Lodge. Their garden is colourful and well kept. Each unit has deckchairs and table and gas barbecue.

It is situated in the beautiful Frensham area, with nearby forests with walk trails, big pond, garden centre and other places of interest to visit.

Special mention must be made of the breakfast pack made available in the refrigerator it far exceeded my expectation! It was ample and sumptuous, including a bottle of wine!

They have stocked each unit with ample tourist information and leaflets. Telephone and internet is available for use by guests. Special mention must also be made of the cleanliness of the units.

Specifically Recommend:

See all my comments made under the previous headings. But specifically Carol and Peter’s warm welcome and their availability to guests at ALL times! They helped in everything!

Be Aware:

Nothing. Our specific requests were answered and complied with promptly and courteously

Summary:

“An amazing adventure through Europe and then to Frensham which we used as a base for other travels through the UK. A delightful time with our stay at the Dragon Lodge”

We downloaded the brochure from the website and the information was excellent, although we actually found the facility better than the brochure.

Superb facility with outstanding fixtures and fittings.

As we were visiting from Australia we found the area at Frensham as we pictured Surrey would look like

Specifically Recommend:

If the guest is looking for a place to call home while touring it is ideal. Wonderfully friendly owners who look after their guests so well.

Our granddaughter visited us by train from London and it was only a short trip, so it makes Dragon Lodge a good place to stay if you wish to have day trips to London.

Local Gems:

The local cricket ground, Rural Life Centre, Holly Bush Hotel and the local town of Farnham

En Route:

We travelled from Heathrow in a hire car and it was only a short drive of about 45 minutes to the Dragon Lodge

Welcome pack much appreciated and a thoughtful touch.

Due to popularity of the accommodation we were unable to stay for the full week as we had hoped, but nonetheless we enjoyed our brief stay.

Quality fixtures and fittings

A very homely feel.
