“If I could pick a life, I would pick that one! ”
This barn definitely exceeded all expectations - it was stunning and the view across the hills and fields amazing. It’s a tremendous location and so homely.
The barn is eco-friendly, and the website made us conscious that hot water and electricity may be limited, however during our whole stay we had no problems what so ever, all of us had a hot shower everyday and the warmth of a wood burning fire can’t be beat!
Dyfi Valley Eco Barn is a home from home, the decor is a mixture of beautiful furnishings and a slightly worn collection of once-loved belongings. We all absolutely loved the eclectic mix. The bedding was dreamily comfortable and we were fully equipped with kitchen items, books and games.
The surroundings are amazing and there’s a really relaxed aura about the place. Watching the sun set from the balcony at the back of the barn is a must, and we are already missing the massive bull flirting with all the cows that watch on through the fence!
The only thing that was a little bit of a surprise was the track up to the barn which was a little longer and bumpier than expected. This shouldn’t deter anyone however as the track is necessary for the remote and beautiful location of the barn!
The area is great too and it’s not too much of a drive from Snowdonia. We loved Potrmeirion, and Aberdyfi beach was a good little trip just twenty minutes’ drive away.
The biggest thing to recommend is a glass of wine, an open fire, some comfy sofas and feet up!
Just that the track up is bumpy and lumpy and the entrance to the track of the road is quite sharp. I would say some form of vehicle is essential to enjoy everything the area has to offer.
Perhaps the provision of candles or lanterns would be nice as it gets dark very quickly. There may have been some but we didn’t find them, however we take candles and matches everywhere anyway so it’s just a tiny thing!
I’m a fan of fluffy towels rather than the thinner cotton ones provided, but that’s just me!
Lake Vyrney, Portmeirion, Aberdyfi beach, any steam railways
En Route:We drove up from Cardiff, so the drive just became more and more spectacular as we travelled!

“We’re all in love”
An absolutely amazing place to stay! Every inch of this barn conversion has been lovingly done up and is full of fun quirks and treats to stumble across.
It’s close to a great little town but from the barn you feel completely isolated. Bliss.
It’s off grid, with solar power - so the cloudy weather left us with very little electricity - but a generous supply of tea lights made for a perfect evening of candlelight monopoly!
Best features are the views across the valley, the amazing sunken bath tub and wonderfully eclectic style of the place.
Would specifically recommend this to anyone! Though one of the bedrooms has some pretty tight spiral stairs up to it which could be tricky for some.
Local Gems:We had amazing rain storms so snuggled down in the barn all weekend, but it’s close to beaches, great little towns and beautiful valleys.

“A wonderfully relaxing break in breathtakingly peaceful surroundings and guilt-free living in a beautifully renovated cow shed!”
Entirely off-grid barn conversion full of character, quirkiness and wonderfully decorated.
A real gem of a place specifically due to its location - so close to a fab town and yet completely at peace with itself on a hill amongst the livestock. Very well equipped.
The views had been described but nothing prepares you - especially the view from the bath!!
The peacefulness is second to none

“Absolutely fantastic time for us as a family, talking, playing and spending good quality time together, great!!!”
A beautifully renovated and converted barn, nestled in the mountains of Wales, the only sound to be heard is sheep and lambs bleating and cows mooing.
The scenery is breathtaking....mountains as far as the eye can see!
The accommodation is quirky and modern, most of the furniture is recycled or vintage, with great attention to detail and style. The bedrooms are cosy and the beds a delight to sleep in.
The Barn is completely off-grid, with solar panels for the little electricity you may need and Propane gas for the stove. A wood-burning stove is the only form of heating, which is adequate - we visited in January previously and found the Barn warm and cosy. very well equipped and more than comfortable
Most importantly there is NO TV. which means no distractions, but there is a good source of reading material and a small collection of box games. A thoroughly relaxing, quiet, restful time is guaranteed!
Take a walk or drive around one of the coast routes recommended by the owner in the information book, well worth it, some beautiful scenery and lovely beaches to visit.
Be Aware:This is completely off-grid, no mains water (spring water) and Propane gas for the stove, wood-burning stove is the only form of heating.
This is a fantastic experience but be sure to pack an extra jumper and thick socks for first thing in the morning, especially during the winter months, it’s a little chilly until the wood-burner is lit.
So many can’t actually begin to list them, good source of information at the Barn.

“The perfect holiday accommodation in the perfect surroundings”
Beudy Banc was well described on the website but I found the location and the standard of accommodation was even better than expected.
The accommodation was perfect. Well designed, stylish with great attention to detail.
The surroundings were beautiful.
It was the most relaxing place I could imagine. It was perfect.
Everything. If you want to find beautifully designed, environmentally sustainable holiday accommodation nestled in a valley overlooked by mountains then this is the place for you.
All you can hear are the sounds of lambs bleating. It is pretty remote so a wonderful place to relax.
This accommodation is off-grid, so powered by solar panels. There isn’t much electricity (no TV etc) and heating is by log burning stove and LPG heater. It makes it much easier to feel as though you are away from it all.
