Grindon Cartshed is a converted outbuilding on Grindon Farm. When we stayed the room was suitable for our needs, with two single beds, and a wheelchair-accessible shower room. This was large and well designed. The bedroom itself was not large, but the property included a large sitting-dining room shared with the other two rooms in the cartshed.

The welcome was warm and friendly and a pot of tea was provided. We had booked an evening meal, which included several choices, and was very good. Breakfast too was very good, with local fresh food on offer.

The farm is close to Hadrians Wall and to Hexham, and is in Northumberland National Park - a very beautiful area. I would thoroughly recommend a stay here.

Specifically Recommend:

Wheelchair-accessible room, the large sitting-dining area, and the warmth of the welcome.

Be Aware:

The room was comfortable, though not large, but it was perfectly adequate for our needs. However the owners are about to convert another building and hope to include other, larger, wheelchair-accessible rooms.

The evening meal was a beef stew on very hot plates. The vegetable was salad. Lettuce leaves on hot plates are inclined to wilt! However this is a very minor point, and the rest of the food was very good.
