“Stunning property with excellent indoor and outdoor facilities, great for large parties”

We stayed for a friend’s 40th birthday celebration. The property was stunning on arrival and once inside even better. It is decorated to a very high standard, very spacious and great for entertaining.

We were given a delicious homemade Victoria sponge on arrival which didn’t last long! The pool was a lovely temperature and we made full use of this day and night.

We will definitely be returning and cannot recommend this property enough.

Specifically Recommend:

The outside areas for sitting and the pool.

We didn’t leave the property as it offered so much.

“A home full of comfort and character set in beautiful grounds”

We had a wonderful long weekend at Six Apples. Sarah met us on arrival and was very welcoming, she had even made us a sponge cake to enjoy!

Our every need was catered for, so we were able to relax amid beautiful grounds in a home full of character and comfort.

We were in the area to celebrate a family birthday and Sarah was very accommodating about relatives joining us at various points throughout the weekend. Every one of us said ’Wow’ when arriving at the house.

We have stayed at a variety of accommodation around the world and thought Six Apples was extremely good value for money.

Highly recommended!

Summary:

“Six Apples is an exceptionally beautiful house for a weekend away or a holiday well worth staying in!”

We had the most amazing long weekend at Six Apples in October with our Swiss friends and children who were visiting us. We couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay in. It’s the best holiday rental we have been in in the UK and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this to any of our friends or family looking for a place in the country to stay for a long weekend or holiday.

The dcor of the house is stunning, everything works and is clean and comfortable. The kitchen is brilliantly equipped, the grounds are beautiful and we all couldn’t quite believe what a lovely place we were staying in for the weekend. We will definitely visit again.

Thanks so much to Sarah for managing such a fab getaway. She is on hand but totally leaves you to get on with things but is full of information on things to do weather-wise and with children etc and places to visit and where to go to eat out etc. We took advantage of the grocery service and had Sainsbury’s deliver for our arrival on the Friday. If you’ve come across this place - just book it, you won’t regret it.

Specifically Recommend:

Lighting one of the stoves and chilling out and chatting with mates in the lovely rooms.

Local Gems:

Finchingfield is gorgeous - mind out for the ducks crossing. Lovely pub and a beautiful village.

En Route:

Hedingham Castle is well worth a visit. Southend is do-able as a day trip we had a great time.

“Six Apples is a wonderful place to stay and somewhere I hope we will be visiting again before too long”

The property was beautiful and was even better than it looked on the website. Sarah was helpful but not intrusive and the welcoming cake didn’t stay around for long! The pool was a good size and extremely well used during our stay.

The property offered maximum privacy which was great but you were still next to a road so that visiting other places was easy.

Decked area, with BBQ and seating was great and we were able to eat outside most lunchtimes and evenings. Great sized kitchen-dining area with plenty of room for everyone to cook and chat at the same time.

A really lovely, peaceful setting.

Specifically Recommend:

The spaciousness and privacy of the house, garden and pool area - beautiful and peaceful.

Local Gems:

The Fox at Finchingfield is well worth a visit - great food and friendly staff.

Saffron Walden was a charming place with a good range of shops.

Harry Potter Experience - brilliant.

The property was fantastic! The location was great, between some beautiful English villages. The house was lovely, and very spacious and comfortable.

The kids loved the front yard and the swing set. The kitchen and bathrooms were very modern and the bedrooms very comfortable.

I would recommend this property to families or anyone looking for a beautiful spot in the country, that is still close to some good sight seeing.

“Just what we were looking for - perfect”

We needed a property with plenty of space as various members of our family were joining us at different times during the week as we were attending a family wedding at nearby Hedingham Castle.

Six Apples fitted the bill perfectly, enough bedrooms for everyone to feel welcome, and no queueing for the bathroom as plenty of those too. The property is amazing, with excellent quality fixtures, fittings. The quality of the linen is excellent, I dont think I have ever had such fabulous towels!

The pool was a bonus and great fun. Sarah, the owner, was very easy to speak to and the homemade cake and bread was most welcome after a very long journey. Would love to return in the future. Just need to find an excuse.

Specifically Recommend:

There are towels in the family bathroom for use when using the pool. We weren’t sure so took our own, so save the space in your car!

“An amazing property that offers all the home comforts and personal touches you could wish for!”

We are eight very old friends who travelled from far and wide to meet up for a massive catch up from our nurse training days (22 years ago!), and we couldn’t have found a better venue!

Six Apples is absolutely gorgeous and we were all over-whelmed by its size and attention to detail. Communication with Sarah was effortless and her homely personal touches were much appreciated after our long journeys (wonderful homemade bread and cake!).

We didn’t venture out over the weekend as Six Apples offered us the space and facilities we needed for reliving our fun times of cooking, eating and living together. Two girls braved the heated pool and said it was lovely and warm! (there were even pool towels provided!) Several of us made comment how we would love to revisit with our own families as the surrounding gardens are perfect for children as well as adults.

Finally, two days just wasn’t enough in this beautiful house, we all wished we could stay longer and will certainly be wanting to return, but hopefully not in another 22 years!!! Thank you Sarah for allowing us to enjoy your wonderful property.

Specifically Recommend:

Travel lightly as everything you need is provided in this property!!!

Local Gems:

We didn’t venture out apart from a little food shopping in Braintree where there is a Tesco, Sainsburys and Morrisons.

Six Apples is a beautiful house, with 5 star luxurious bathrooms, kitchen, lovely living areas, open fire and had everything we needed.

“Cannot recommend highly enough!”

I stayed at Six Apples with a group of ladies for a low-key and relaxing hen weekend. The property is beautiful, immaculately decorated and spotlessly clean.

The property is very spacious and benefits from a number of bath-shower rooms.

The lady who owns the property could not have been more helpful (the homemade bread and cake were a very welcome treat on arrival).

The surrounding area is rural with local villages of varying distances, perfect if you enjoy walking. That said, I think a car is almost essential otherwise it would feel quite isolated.

In short, this is a truly lovely property with a very helpful (but not intrusive) owner. It suited our needs perfectly but would also suit families as well.

Specifically Recommend:

The space, decor and cleanliness.

Local Gems:

We ate at a local restaurant called Zafra which I would also recommend. Lovely food and excellent service.

Summary:

“A truly perfect place”

This was a truly memorable stay. We were warmly welcomed into the Six Apples and were extremely impressed with the attention to detail and the amenities. The welcome pack was a lovely touch with a homemade cake and freshly baked bread.

The accommodation was extremely comfortable and the space, design and finish were impeccable. We had everything we could wish for during our stay, travel cots, change mats, toys, books, high chair were all provided for the babies. Wood was left for the log burners and even washing powder for the washing machine!

We would love to return again next year. Truly magnificent!

Specifically Recommend:

For all. There is enough at Six Apples for everyone.

Local Gems:

Finchingfield was fantastic and would highly recommend the pub on the green. However when you have such a beautiful house to stay in you can be forgiven for not wanting to go out.

“A stunning eco-friendly luxury home from home”

Such a beautiful, relaxing, clean, warm, peaceful place to stay. So much space and light. And wonderful for the babies.

It has everthing you need for a stay away, and is gorgeous. We just loved it for our large family.

The fact that it is eco-friendly is exemplary for such a rental property.

Specifically Recommend:

The kitchen living area is perfect for big family meals.
