Summary:

“Please can we move here....”

We loved our stay at Daisy Cottage. In fact I wish we lived there. Our first time to Norfolk and we would return in a flash. The cottage was very comfortable. The garden a beautiful place to relax in a lovely sun trap away from the sea breeze.

Sea Palling is perfect for holidaying with dogs and children. Everything you could need on your doorstep. Beach. Ice Cream. Chips. Big wooden seal!

The treats on arrival were much appreciated (especially all the sweet things and doggie biscuits). Comfortable beds. It was useful to be able to use the stair gate to stop the dogs and small human getting upstairs after sufficient exploring had been completed.

Totally recommend and we would return in a flash.

Specifically Recommend:

Sea Palling beach. Walking to Waxham Barn for refreshments but not on a Wednesday as we found.

Small human recommends the ice creams at Sandy Hills and we enjoyed them too. Smalls Sticks cafe. Winterton beach and Cafe.

Chippy van that parks up at the Village hall on Wednesday teatime. Farm shop down the road. Seals at Horsey.

Wroxham Barn for bit of kid time but dogs can’t go in the shops or play areas.

Be Aware:

Stairs are very steep but we expected this and managed fine with them.

You do hear adjacent properties in the terrace but this was fine (and expected... It is a row of cottages after all!).

There isn’t parking at the cottage but plenty of parking nearby.

Local Gems:

Local beaches, Smallsticks cafe, Winterton dunes and Cafe, seals at Horsey, Greyhound Inn, nearby farm shop.

“Comfortable, clean and very dog-friendly”

Daisy Cottage is a very nice place to stay. Very clean and everything in the house you could need.
The garden is pretty with a good area for dogs. Our dogs are very small so had to watch they didn’t get through the hedge, but it is very secure.
There is a small dog-friendly caf at the end of the road who serve very nice latte coffee and hot doughnuts.

The beach is 5 minute walk away also very dog-friendly. A shop across the road sells most things you would need while away. Daisy Cottage is in a good position with all you need very close by.

Specifically Recommend:

Walks along the beach.

Be Aware:

I must mention the stairs are very steep so if you have problems with stairs it might be tricky.

Local Gems:

Beach walks

“Just what we were expecting”

Daisy Cottage is a very quaint little cottage. It was clean and very close to the beach and local pub.

The welcome pack was awesome and meant we did not have to go out and shop straight away.

Coca the Chocolate Lab and Sid the Border Collie loved it and can’t wait to come back.

Specifically Recommend:

i would specifically recommend a trip to Horsey Beach to see the seals

Be Aware:

The stairs are quite steep so I would not recommend for anyone with mobility problems.

Local Gems:

Reefs Bar - everyone is really friendly - just a quick note to add that they only take cash.

Horsey Beach to see the seals - absolutely amazing

“Daisy Cottage is a charming, tastefully decorated doggy-friendly cottage”

This was our first doggy-friendly holiday and Daisy Cottage totally exceeded our expectations. The cottage is tastefully decorated and furnished and was extremely well equipped. We weren’t expecting the little extras like the welcome pack of provisions and treats, such as locally homemade fudge, jam and even homemade doggy biscuits!!

Very much enjoyed our stay and walks on the lovely beach which is just a short walk to the end of the road.

Would thoroughly recommend this property and is particularly suited to families taking a dog on holiday with them.

Specifically Recommend:

Fully equipped for humans and doggies alike!!

“Beautiful, well-equipped cottage”

Daisy Cottage does not disappoint, we arrived to a warm, cosy cottage with facility for real fires, the cottage is exceptionally well equipped with Wi-Fi, ample comfy seating, dining room for four, dog beds dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer microwave cooker etc. 2 large double bedrooms, large bathroom with bath and shower, long rear garden with parking outside (out of season). There is a bar, shop beach all within easy walking distance.

The area is quiet but Great Yarmouth and Norwich only a 20 minute drive away.

We would definitely return to Daisy Cottage if we visit this area again.

“Daisy Cottage is the most comfortable and dog-friendly cottage I have ever stayed in! The beach was fab”

The cottage was very comfortable and very well-equipped for dogs and humans alike. There was a welcome pack that was a nice touch, and throws and baskets for the dogs.

The beach and walks were amazing - would go back like a shot - loved it!! I feel like I have been away for weeks not a few days so highly recommend.

Summary:

“Daisy Cottage, an absolute delight!”

This cottage is like a tardis, a neat little frontage that gives way to quite a substantial property and a super-sized garden too. It was lovely to stay somewhere that had high quality fixtures and fittings and was incredibly dog-friendly too. I’ve never managed to find a cottage like it and we book weekly breaks 3-5 times a year!

Just a couple of minutes’ walk and you’re on a lovely beach, our three dogs loved their twice daily walks and we admired many a sea and skyscape. Really handy to have a well stocked shop a minute’s walk away. The area was very peaceful but I’m sure that’s down to the time of year as I imagine it would be very busy in the summer months.

We loved our visit and would highly recommend the property and area.

Specifically Recommend:

Truly Local, a fabulous shop selling an array of foods and products sourced locally.

Be Aware:

The stairs in the property would not be suitable for anyone infirm.

Local Gems:

The seals at Horsey Beach, an amazing experience to be that close to nature and not have to view it captive in an aquarium or zoo.

“Daisy Cottage and Sea Palling come highly recommended - would love to return!”

We were looking for a relaxing weekend break for ourselves and our two dogs, something to look forwards to and brighten up a usually dreary January. Daisy Cottage was everything we were looking for and more!

The location, less than 5 minutes walk to the beautiful beach, with the local shop just around the corner, could not have been better and the cottage itself was cosy and welcoming. The facilities, kitchen, furniture, bedding etc... were all good quality and we enjoyed lazing around with the fire on watching movies and reading.

Having an enclosed garden is a massive plus for dog owners, and we really enjoyed the treats left out for us and the dogs - not expected when only staying for a weekend! I could not recommend Daisy Cottage highly enough.

“Great flavours of Norfolk (real ales)”

Fabulous little terraced cottage with a delightful garden. Excellently equipped with good quality furnishings. We were amazed at the amount of doggie things available in the under stairs cupboard, we needn’t have taken all our dog beds, blankets and towels!

The welcome pack was ideal for afternoon tea on arrival with eggs, bread, butter, jam, fudge, cake, and even homemade dog treats.

The proximity to the beach was fantastic, as was the quality and cleanliness of the beach and surrounding area. We found some great walks to go on with the dogs, some days walking up to 10 miles with a combination of beach, dunes, countryside and footpaths.

Daisy Cottage is delightful. It is well appointed and ideally situated for walking. It is very close to the beach and Sea Palling has two nice eating places.

Summary:

“A delightful cottage in a lovely area of Norfolk.”

A delightful cottage, newly renovated, but the garden is the joy of this property, a true cottage garden. The small village of Sea Palling is a very friendly place, almost all who live there appear to have dogs, and were very welcoming to our Westie and my husband, who both enjoyed their morning beach walk.

Daisy Cottage has everything and more one needs for a very relaxing home-from-home, we were even finding more crockery in cupboards we hadn’t opened previously on the morning we left for home!!

Whilst staying in this village, do sample the fudge from the Small Fudge Stall - suffice to say the four bags bought for friends at home became only two, the other two were eaten on an appalling journey home.

Specifically Recommend:

Relaxation, do as much or as little as you wish

Be Aware:

The only draw back are the stairs, they are very steep, with a narrow tread, anyone with mobility issues should ask further questions prior to booking this property, I didn’t, which somewhat tainted this cottageVbApfs appeal for me, but that was my fault entirely.

“Superb, DOG WELCOME relaxing cottage”

An absolutely delightful cottage with all of the modern day requirements. On arrival a welcome pack of goodies and even handmade doggie biscuits which our Choc Lab, Astro, certainly enjoyed.

Up the steep staircase the bedrooms were well sized each with very comfortable double beds and plenty of storage space. Also a large modern bathroom together with shower. Outside an enchanting cottage garden and patio area with dog-safe fences.

Being so close to the dog-friendly sandy beach Astro was able to run around to her heart’s content and meet other canine companions. The village of Sea Palling is a very friendly place and dogs are welcome in most of the places.

We had a very relaxing week in spite of walking each day, the whole place gives a very calming atmosphere.

Specifically Recommend:

Sea Palling Beach

Local Gems:

Beach, Reef Bar good choice of beers etc and good food available and dogs welcomed.

’’A lovely review, thank you Gordon. And thank you too for the lovely photos you sent me of Astro enjoying the beach and then sleeping it off on the sofa at Daisy Cottage. I’ve put them on the East Ruston Cottages Facebook page so others can see how much fun it is for dogs there. Very glad you (well Astro!) enjoyed the home made dog biscuits. They are made by a lady who moved here after falling in love with Norfolk and she makes them to raise money for dog rescue and they are very popular. “Lovely, well equipped, dog-friendly cottage in lovely village location”

This is an absolutely gorgeous and spacious cottage, beautifully refurbished and modern without losing its cottage charm. Lovely cottage garden, well equipped kitchen with everything and more you would need. Lovely location 50 yards from a lovely dog-friendly beach and also well placed for visiting the surrounding areas of the Broads and seaside resorts.

The cottage is very dog-friendly with baskets, towels, bowls, dog toys and the garden is completely dog safe too.

The cottage is so cosy and homely, but modern, bright, clean and tastefully done, the beds were soooo comfy and the whole area is very peaceful and relaxing.

We loved it, perfect for dog owners - walking, just chilling for a relaxing week but not too far away from civilisation either - perfect!

Specifically Recommend:

The location is perfect for seeing Norfolk and the Broads. It’s so peaceful and tranquil in the village but not completely cut off with a local shop etc.

Local Gems:

Sea Palling beach - lovely for walking - with or without a dog.

“A perfect cottage in a perfect location - great for dog owners”

What a delightful cottage!. Completely refurbished to a high specification. It exceeded all our expectations. It was in a perfect location with easy access to the beach, bar, post office and cafe.

I had the best sleep I have had for years - the beds were so comfortable and I will certainly be purchasing some of the pillows soon.

The garden was very pretty and we often sat outside with the dogs enjoying the birds singing and the bees humming - it was so peaceful and relaxing.

The thoughtful welcome pack was perfect - bread, milk, cake, eggs and even dog biscuits which were consumed with real relish.
