“1st class lodge, 1st class park in a 1st class location, and 1st class customer service from start to finish....”

Excellent customer service from start to finish, even a friendly txt on our arrival day to wish us a nice stay.

The lodge was very well appointed with a bit of luxury thrown in, loads of outside decking space with nice views. All bedrooms had plenty of space and very comfortable inc TVs and even a playstation for the kids.

Limefitt is a beautiful, well laid-out park in a great, peaceful location.

Specifically Recommend:

Great walks from your doorstep.

Haybarn Inn on the site was a real bonus with really nice staff and great food.

Local Gems:

Short walk up Wansfell Pike - not too high but great views over Ambleside towards Great Langdale.

Summary:

“Fantastic break in a fantastic property”

Another of the reviews has mentioned this but it really did seem to be a home away from home with everything needed for a relaxing break.

The property is very well appointed in a comfortable and modern style with good views of the fells. The three bedrooms are of a good size (with one geared towards children).

The decking area provides a safe play area for children (and the tree a great hiding place for toy dinosaurs!) as well as a great place to have a drink after a day on the fells.

There are walks of all difficulties straight from the door, be it up onto the high fells or through the fields to nearby Windermere and Ambleside.

Specifically Recommend:

For visitors with children the Beatrix Potter Experience in Bowness is a great way to pass an hour or so.

Local Gems:

The Haybarn Inn (on the Limefitt site) and the Mortal Man (ten minutes’ brisk uphill walk to the village) offer great food (and drink) in a welcoming atmosphere.

For walkers and climbers looking to gear up Keswick was a great place to get new equipment.

For families looking to buy children’s walking equipment Adventure Families in Ambleside is excellent.

En Route:

Low Sizergh barn, a farmshop five minutes from the M6 is a fantastic stop-off to pick up fresh produce as well as filled rolls for the return journey - well worth a visit.

Summary:

“A home-from-home for a relaxing, unwinding break which everyone should have more often!”

This lodge exceeded our expectations in every way. No skimping on the little things. This made the difference between being good accommodation and being great accommodation.

The property looks new and it was immaculate and cosy. The lodge is set under an old tree and surrounded by greenery.

I would recommend this to families and couples.

Specifically Recommend:

I would recommend - every now and again - stopping and taking in the views. It’s too easy to keep driving past and you’re missing so much.

Be Aware:

It may not be suited to wheelchair users due to the steps leading up to the decking front door, but this was not an issue for us

Local Gems:

The Lake District National Park Visitors’ Centre between Bowness and Ambleside. On a nice day there is lots to do and things to see. The gardens are well kept and tranquil. Their lake shore is great for kids to paddle in. Best of all it’s free....you just pay for the parking.

Little gem...The Lakes of the Aquarium. Go and see the otters.
